Representing both sellers and buyers, I want my clients to be comfortable and knowledgeable throughout their real estate transaction. Buying or selling real estate is often overwhelming, but with knowledge comes comfort. That’s why I keep my clients informed and educated through every step of the transaction. I find no better satisfaction than successfully matching people to homes or helping homeowners move on in their life’s journey.
Although my professional real estate career began in 1987, I’ve been involved in real estate in one form or another my entire life. Born to a general contracting family, our Sunday afternoons were spent visiting the jobsites under construction. While the company built mostly municipal buildings, my family members successfully bought and sold real estate for personal investments. As a young adult, I began investing in real estate while building my career as a programmer and systems analyst. After 20+ years as a systems analyst, I entered the world of real estate and have never looked back. My years in IT gave me not only a great appreciation for details but also keeps me current with today’s ever changing technological world.
As a Realtor, I served on numerous committees for the Litchfield County Board of Realtors, as LCBR President and Realtor of the Year, the CT Association of Realtors Legislative Committee and State Director for many years. I served on two President’s Advisory Groups for the President of the Connecticut Association of Realtors - Buyer Representation and Professional Standards – both of which had significant impacts on our industry.
In 1994, I purchased Marrin Real Estate, Litchfield’s oldest real estate agency. Established in 1930 by Jean Fyfe Marrin, the company was passed on to her son, Oswald, in the early 1950s. At the time of purchase, we were the local affiliate for Sotheby’s, prior to their founding their own realty company. I take great pride in knowing that no other local agency can compare to our continuous, long-lived dedication to serving the real estate needs of buyers and sellers.
I attended Torrington High School, graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont and Otterbein University in Westerville Ohio with a BA in Mathematics. My three children attended the Litchfield Montessori School and all graduated from Litchfield High School. They are graduates of Trinity College in Hartford CT, Franklin Pierce College in Rindge NH and Northeastern University in Boston MA.
I am an active member of the Litchfield Morris Rotary Club and an active parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church in Bantam. I enjoy everything organic - cooking, baking, gardening and have been an animal lover and rescuer my entire life.
For me, there is no better satisfaction than successfully matching people to homes or helping homeowners take that next step. I look forward to helping you on your real estate journey, too!
